Tracing Border is a retrospective exhibition and work in progress show for thirteen East Asian designers and artists. I take part in this exhibition as a participant and also a space curator. Two main part of space design are ‘Collective tower’ and ‘Individual space’. Collective tower is the centerpiece of the space like a fixed star, and Individual spaces are freely located around Collective tower like planets. The Collective tower consists of hanging shelves to archive and display all objects of inspira- tion from 13 designers. Also, main 13 objects from each designers are hung by rope, and these are connecting to each individual spaces. By using this rope connection, Collective tower and Individual spaces are visually and contextually connected. The space design is intended to avoid traditional exhibition format and present intuitive visual guideline for the exhibition within low-budget.
