CURTAIN HOUSE, 2023
As a designer from South Korea, I am aware of the problem that our generation faces, which is the high density of population within limited space, making it difficult to own real estate. Instead of having a physical one, I desired to create my own micro real estate that reflects my diasporic personality, characterized by an ironic co-existence of vulnerability and plausible character.
The exaggerated drapery shapes of the Curtain House design create a brutal look, while the lamp produces soft lighting that reflects on the texture. The lamp creates a very different mood, depending on how much it is opened.
